Red Cross Red Crescent Day activities
National Headquarters NHQ
will provide technical support to the branches
on their activities as well as promote the
work of the Red Cross and the various Branch
activities on the media. There will be a World
Red Cross Day feature in one of the local newspapers
on Sunday May 6, and interviews will be conducted
on electronic media throughout the week.
St. James Branch Activities
include a sensitization on the role of the
Red Cross at the Water Lane Community, distribution
of Red Cross Information in area group, expositions
at Cornwall College and Montego Bay High School
, debating at Glendevon Primary & Junior
High and an Anti- Stigma sensitization at Granville.
St. Ann Branch Activities
include distribution of brochures and application
forms and a Membership Recruitment Drive in
the Town Centers.
St. Mary Branch Activities
include the displaying of banners and brochures
and sensitization of the Red Cross movement
at the Parish School Library
St. Thomas The Expanding Education Horizon Programme
(EEHP) students will be making a visit to the
Parish's Infirmary.
Westmoreland Branch Display
and sensitization of the Red Cross movement
at the First Caribbean Bank
Clarendon Branch Activities
include Live Outside Broadcast by Power 106
FM at the Tiger Market, May Pen, Mini-display,
Fund Raiser/Walk-a-thon and a Health Fair on
May 10, 2007 between the hours of 9 a.m.- 5
p.m. by the New Testament Church of God.
St. Elizabeth Branch There
will be a display at the Branch and a Membership
Recruitment Drive.
Kingston and St. Andrew
Branch There will be a Tree Planting
Ceremony by Executive Committee, members
and Volunteers at 10am at the branch.
Portland Branch Activities
include an Exhibition at the Parish Library,
a short ceremony by the Link Patron, members
and Volunteers, a Road March and a supper feeding
exercise by Portland residents at the Infirmary.
Manchester Branch The
Youth group will be conducting a Fundraising
activity (Coin Collection Drive).
St. Catherine Branch Activities
include displays at the Parish Library and
the St. Jago Plaza in Spanish Town and visiting
schools in the Linstead area to conduct sensitizations.
A visit will also be made to the Linstead Hospital. |
