Mission
The mission of the Pan-American
Disaster Response Unit is to prevent and relief the suffering
caused by natural and man-made disasters in the Americas,
following the fundamental principles of the International
Movement of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent and the
policies of the International Federation.
Vision
The Pan-American Disaster
Response Unit is the focal point for response preparedness
and response; its goal is to increase coherence of the
Movement in the region through an appropriate coordination
and planning; strengthening capacities to face a crisis
during a disaster.
Goals

coordination with Regional Delegations.
- To increase collaboration and coordination with National
Societies in the Americas .
- To promote coordination with partners and other organizations.
- To be a processes facilitator
Objective 3
- To increase the impact of humanitarian
actions in case of disasters.
- To spread and apply standards in humanitarian assistance.
- To implement training programs of preparedness and
response.
- To ensure transparency of donors, partners and beneficiaries.
- To develop response tools.
