In July, the Guyana Red Cross (GRC) responded to flooding
in Rupununi, Region #9 which was experiencing heavier than
usual flooding due to rainfall and rising rivers.
The GRC’s Lethem Branch worked together with regional
authorities – Remote Area Medical/Wings of Hope (RAM/WoH),
businesses and private entities to conduct assessments
and distribute relief supplies.
The GRC also launched a national appeal to sustain and
expand the relief response to the needs of vulnerable families
in communities.
