Simulation exercise carried out by Aruba Red Cross

More than 40 volunteers of the Aruba Red Cross, Overseas Branch of the Netherlands Red Cross participated in an intense simulation exercise on March 2.

 At 7 o’clock in the morning the Red Cross alarm was activated. Volunteers gather at the Red Cross building and collected materials to regroup in San Nicolas, a town near the Valero refinery.

By 7.20 over 40 volunteers were present at the San Nicolas Fire Brigade. From there they went to Rincon where the training was held.

The training had several focus points, including first and second triage area and transportation of victims.

The group was so enthusiastic that several of the scenarios were repeated so everybody had a chance to participate.

More training is planned in coming weeks.
