Grenada Red Cross welcomes new youth director

October 22, 2007

The Grenada Red Cross Society (GRCS) has a new youth director.

Garrick Baptiste, the GRCS’s first male youth director, was appointed in September. In the few weeks since his appointment, he has touched base with over 50 teachers and group leaders throughout Grenada and Carriacou.

He has visited four groups – three of which are new - from four different parishes. He stated that he is particularly pleased with the enthusiasm of the new groups and the level of projects already being undertaken.

On joining the Red Cross Movement, Baptiste said "I feel very fortunate to be working along with such a noble organisation, getting to do what I love, which is working along with young people, giving them an alternative to the present status of today's society….I look forward to enhancing the image of the Youth Department and in extension the Grenada Red Cross Society."
