Grenada Red Cross to defend "Best Island" title at regional youth camp

July 20, 2007

A 29-member group of Grenada Red Cross Society (GRCS) youths, led by former GRCS youth director Roslyn Francis left July 17 for Antigua to participate in the Regional Youth Camp 2007.

The group had been involved in months of preparation through fundraising activities, social events, practice sessions and meetings with the parents and guardians of the youths
enlisted to camp.

This is fourth year of the camp and GRCS is the defending champion of the challenge trophy for the “Best Island Night Award”.

GRCS has held the trophy for the past two years since the competition started and is aiming to record a third victory this year and return home with a permanent plate of victory.

Red Cross youth camps have been held in St Vincent and the Grenadines (2004), St Kitts and Nevis (2005) and Grenada (2006).
