New TWC National Trainers in Grenada dedicate poem

July 10, 2007

The moment you came
We knew that things would never be the same

You have been inspirational
Informative and true

You have been everything
That makes you, you

Intelligent, honest and fun
Many things from you we’ve learnt

And for all that you’ve done
Taking us from ITs to NTs
We are so grateful, that’s true

For all you’ve done
We’ll always love you.

This was the poem dedicated to Regional Trainers, Akeisha Benjamin of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross and Bennet Charles of the St Lucia Red Cross, at the end of a four-day National Trainers workshop for the Together We Can peer education programme in Grenada.

The June 29 – July 2 workshop was described by some participants as fun-filled, enlightening, motivational and a great experience. It was held at the GRC’s conference room.

The goal of the workshop was to not only certify Instructor Trainers (ITs) as National Trainers (NTs), but to help make the programme more appropriate to meet the needs of Grenadians.

The workshop drew those involved in TWC Grenada together as a team, opened avenues to examine the programmes’ strengths and weaknesses, and gave them the opportunities to provide a better service to those whom they reach.

Seven ITs were certified as NTs at the end of the workshop.
