The St. George’s University has donated 2160 CPR face shields valued at US$650 to the Health & Safety Department of Grenada Red Cross Society.

The December 20 donation was made at the University by Dr. Theresa McCann, PhD Associate Dean of Basic and Allied Health Sciences and Associate Professor, Dept of Behavioral Sciences.

Health Director of the Red Cross, Mrs. Samantha Roberts accepted the well timed donation and stated that this gift will aid in the Red Cross’ mission to alleviate suffering through the provision of first aid and CPR Training in community.

She further added that this gesture continues to prove the dynamic relations between the University and the local Red Cross.

Throughout the year the Red Cross accessed technical services from the Counseling services of the University and training through the Clinical Skills Department.

The Red Cross facilitated disaster preparedness sessions for SGU staff and students who are volunteers on the University Disaster Response Team.

The Red Cross also facilitated four students as interns completing some 150 hours of work.
