Climate Change sensitisation workshop in Grenada Red Cross

October 22, 2007

Grenada Red Cross Society (GRCS) recently held a one-day Climate Change Sensitisation and Think Tank workshop for staff and key volunteers.

Members of the board of directors, including GRCS president Pastor Christopher Williams, attended this workshop.

Apart from information sharing, participants formed groups in which they brainstormed about how climate change can impact on the work being done by the Red Cross especially in the areas of Health, Youth and Disaster Management.

Reports shared by groups highlighted many areas of scale up for the National Society, particularly a more definitive and prepared volunteer core.

The need for contingency planning, networking and strengthening alliances was also considered.
