'Faces' campaign now in Aruba

March 9, 2007

The island of Aruba has become the latest Caribbean territory to launch the ‘Faces’ campaign.

The campaign was launched in February, during the Carnival period, when many do not think about their health.

A television spot is shown four times a day on local channels and a radio spot is also broadcast. The Aruba Branch of the Netherlands Red Cross is also using tee-shirts, posters, the newspapers and a website to promote the campaign.

Public reaction has been positive and the local Benneton store has asked permission to hang the Faces tee-shirts in their shop window.

The campaign has also proven to be an excellent tool to draw positive attention on the local Red Cross.

Aruba Red Cross president Greg Peterson, right, holds a Faces tee-shirt while volunteers and three board members hold posters at the launch.
