Bonaire Red Cross board visits the Lieutenant Governor

18 September 2006

On Friday September 1 the recently elected board of the Bonaire Red Cross (BRC) made an official visit to the island’s Lieutenant Governor Herbert F. Domacassé.

Bonaire Red Cross (BRC) President Mr. Johnny Wever introduced the board members present at this meeting.

He explained to the government official the structure of the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) and the other Overseas Branches in the Caribbean region, and spoke about the future plans of the BRC, which is an overseas branch of the NLRC. Their main activity he said is a recruitment drive for more volunteers.

During the visit Lieutenant Governor Domacassé was presented with a Red Cross pin and cap and was invited to be an honorary BRC member. He accepted this token of appreciation.
