Antigua & Barbuda Red Cross celebrates 65 years of national service

Thirty volunteers received awards and certificates as the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross celebrated 65 years of service to the national community with an Awards Banquet.

The venue for the October 21 event was the Grand Princess in Jolly Harbour.

One of the 30 awards was posthumous; the award for Eric Challenger was received by his wife, Inez.

The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross was established as a branch of the British Red Cross on 20th October 1941 and became a National Society by an Act of Parliament in August 1983.
