Together We Can launched in Suriname

Together We Can has reached Surinamese shores.

The regional program was officially launched April 8 at the headquarters of the Suriname Red Cross. US Ambassador, Marsha Barnes delivered a speech; the Ambassador's Fund financed the first part of the TWC program.

That evening, Suriname Red Cross youth joined with two other youth groups to present a TWC Fundraising Show at a local theater. Suriname 's First Lady, Her Excellency Liesbeth Venetiaan and Ambassador Barnes attended. The show was presented April 16 in Nickerie.

The TWC training ran for the entire weekend, from April 8 to 10. National Trainers Claudet MacIntosh and Ranish Wielzen coordinated the training, which involved members of the Youth Red Cross, the Youth Parliament and representatives of Teener Club Stibula.
