Communities get First Aid training from Guyana Red Cross

18 April 2005

The Guyana Red Cross Society conducted community-based first aid training in the community of Shulinab, in Region 9 during the month of March, at the request of the community leaders.

Community members were guided as to how they can make a food chart, towards the aim of having a balanced diet, as their main meal consists mostly of starch. They expressed keen interest in the different methods of using bandages for the different types of injury.

Fourteen community members were present at this training, which was carried out by Ashanta Moses and the GRC Lethem team, Julie Kanhai and Jason Foo. Other leaders in Region 9 have requested that Guyana Red Cross carry out the same kind of training in their communities.
