Grenada Red Cross launches national disaster campaign

The Grenada Red Cross in collaboration with the French Red Cross with funding from ECHO and IFRC, launched its National Disaster Preparedness Campaign on Sunday April 17 th, 2005 at the Marlmount playing field in St. David's.

The campaign is aimed at reaching some 66 communities over the next few months with grand fairs being held on weekends in the communities.

Persons have the opportunity to participate in ongoing activities of the Red Cross which includes - HIV/AIDS/STI's information, First Aid, Psychosocial wellness, Disaster Preparedness, Roof Repair and Social Vulnerabilities (a specific aspect of VCA).

Games and food are also organized by the communities, and persons win many giveaway prizes for disaster preparedness like tool kits and First Aid Kits among others.
