Hurricane Katrina Appeal launched by Belize Red Cross

The Belize Red Cross has launched an appeal for Hurricane Katrina, which has caused tremendous damage in the states of Mississippi and Louisiana in the United States .

Several communities were totally demolished and left in desperate need of humanitarian assistance by the powerful hurricane.

In a press release issued September 1, The Belize Red Cross appealed to Belizeans to show solidarity with those suffering from the hurricane's aftermath by making generous cash donations to the cause, called THE HURRICANE KATRINA RED CROSS APPEAL FUND.

The release invited Belizeans to make cash donations at any of the following commercial banks throughout the country:

Alliance Bank of Belize Ltd. - A/C # 1919

Funds collected will be sent to the American Red Cross in Washington D.C. for the purpose of assisting and meeting those most in distress.
