The Anguilla Red Cross Society was host to two officials of the British Red Cross and the Regional Office.

Assistant Desk Officer from the British Red Cross, Ms. Genevieve Okech, and Regional Officer at the Red Cross Sub-Regional Office in Trinidad, Ms. Jill St. John, were guests at the local group’s general meeting.

During the meeting the two heard reports from the local chapter which highlighted areas of activity, improvement and concerns.

Their trip marks this year’s annual working visit by dignitaries to the local Society to observe the status of the group and to make recommendations for its sustainability and improvement.

The Red Cross officials called on His Excellency, Acting Governor Mr. Mark Capes, Permanent Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, Mr. Rodney Rey, and the Disaster Office.

The officials are also held a press conference with the local media.
