TTRCS launches urgent appeal for Grenada and Tobago

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross is appealing for monetary assistance for the people of Tobago and Grenada in the aftermath of the devastating effects of hurricane Ivan.

The people of Tobago in a number of areas are still suffering from the impact. Thirty-five homes have had roof damage and 14 villages have also reported damages of one kind or another.

In Grenada , roads are impassable, island wide infrastructure has been damaged, normal communications are down, the town and many parts of the island are devastated, and shelter operations are in effect.

Basic food stuff, water, sanitation supplies and medication are urgently needed.
