The Cayman Islands Red Cross will be having an Open House on Saturday August 28 th , 2004

The objective is to create public awareness and also to educate those who still do not know what the Red Cross does, especially since we are in Hurricane Season.

Mrs Jondo Obi, director-general of the Cayman Islands Red Cross said after Hurricane Charley two weeks ago, it became evident that everyone on the island needs to be prepared.

"We will be setting up a shelter in the upper part of our building, displaying the disaster supplies in the container, and opening up our trailer for the public to see."

They will also have several booths with information on all Red Cross programmes, projects and services that they provide during the year.

The Cayman Islands Red Cross is also catering games, drinks and foods for those children that will attend the Open House.

The Red Cross will also use this opportunity to generate some income with some raffle tickets that they will sell on the day.
