Anguilla Red Cross Minivan operations is evaluated

An assessment of the progress of the Anguilla Red Cross Minivan operations and functioning has been carried out by Logistics Officer in the International Division of the British Red Cross Mr. Mike Goodhand during his recent visit here.

Mr. Goodhand visited Anguilla from Thursday 16 th to Monday 22nd November on his final stop of a three legged visit which also included the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Cayman Islands.

The minivan was donated to the local branch of the organization earlier this year.

Other activities engaged in by Goodhand included an inspection and the making of recommendations for improvements to the warehouse storage of relief supplies and the training of the Red Cross Volunteers in the management of the warehouse and the relief supplies.

During his visit Mr. Goodhand paid courtesy calls on Miss. Jackie Barlow at the Governors Office, Permanent Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office Mr. Rodney Rey and Minister of Social Development the Honorable Mr. Eric Reid along with his Permanent Secretary Mr. Foster Rogers.

Goodhand who will be available in the case of a disaster also visited Anguilla last year and assisted the local organization in obtaining the minivan and the relief supplies that are now on island.
