Grenada Red Cross Society celebrates World Red Cross/Red Crescent Day on Monday May 8th 2006 with a massive Street Parade & Rally to be held in Gouyave, St. John's.

All youth and adult groups will assemble at the Cuthbert Peter's Park in Gouyave,St. John's for 1:30 pm. At the park one of the youth leaders will give the call to order, say the blessing and give the marching orders.

The parade goes up Depradine Street unto the back road and into the St. Rose Modern Secondary School where the official part of the celebrations will be held.

At the school the Red Crossers will be addressed by the president, a guest speaker, chairperson of the St. John's/St. Mark's Local Committee and the Parliamentary Representative for the area.

One person from each group will be given an award for the most outstanding member, as well as awards to members who have given 5 & 10 years of service to the society.

Following this a number of cultural items will be performed and refreshment served to bring the curtains down on the day's activities.
