In
Dominica, Red Cross week was observed from May 8th - 14th,
2004 with a number of activities as follows:-
Day 1 - Church Service in the morning and Fund-raising Dinner
and Bingo in the afternoon.
Day 2 – Individual Church
Services in 14 Red Cross branches
Day 3 – Director General, Kathleen Pinard-Byrne interviewed
on DBS Radio on week of activities and “Stop Discrimination” theme
Day 4 – Enrollment of new
junior Red Cross link in Pointe Michel and new members of
Goodwill School link
Day 5 – Enrollment of new
members of Portsmouth Red Cross branch
Day 6 – Food hampers distributed
to Persons Living with HIV/AIDS and their families
Day 7 – Mass CPR Training
for members of the public
Throughout the week, Red Cross pins were given out in exchange
for ash donations. Additionally, a successful sales promotion
on First Aid kits was also held. |
